The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 is, pound for pound, the best GPU for pushing Anthem to higher resolutions at top settings whilst also maintaining a consistent 60 frames per second (FPS). It's not cheap, but it's an amazing graphics card that's worth every penny since it will handle games incredibly well.
Our pick NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070Great power, fair price
The RTX 2070 is an amazing graphics card with excellent power at a price that's lower than most premium GPUs currently on the market. For Anthem and any other game, this card will serve you admirably.
Who should buy this GPU?The RTX 2070 is ideal for Anthem players that want to push the game to its highest settings on above-standard resolutions, without sacrificing a smooth FPS. In addition, because it's so powerful, the RTX 2070 is also a great card for people that want to future-proof their PC and make sure that they won't need upgrades for a significant amount of time.
Is it a good time to buy this GPU?Currently, it's a great time to buy the RTX 2070. There's nothing coming soon from either AMD or NVIDIA that would logically lead to the RTX cards dropping in price, and at the moment, there's very little competition to NVIDIA's RTX line of cards, either.
Reasons to buyThere are a few reasons why the RTX 2070 is such a great GPU, the biggest of which being that it's one of the strongest graphics cards you can get right now and therefore you won't need to worry about upgrading for a long time. In addition, though, the RTX 2070, like all the other RTX cards, supports ray tracing and Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). The former is an advanced lighting technique that overhauls a game's lighting and makes it much more realistic, while the latter is a clever anti-aliasing strategy that improves performance considerably.
The RTX 2070 is a wonderful balance of power and price.
Right now, only Metro Exodus and Battlefield V support ray tracing and DLSS, but Anthem is expected to receive DLSS support in the near future as well, meaning that you'll be able to use at least one of the special RTX GPU features with it at some point. Lastly, the card is priced very well at $550. It's certainly not cheap, but it's far from being unaffordable, at least for dedicated PC gamers. Considering how strong the card is, that price is great.
Alternatives to the RTX 2070While the RTX 2070 is a fantastic GPU, there are suitable alternatives available that you may prefer depending on your desires and your budget. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 is a great card if you want to play Anthem at high settings but don't care about pushing higher resolutions, while the AMD RX 580 is a wonderful budget option if you won't mind turning some settings down.
Runner-up NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060Strong and affordable
If you want to make Anthem look great but don't care about pushing higher-than-standard resolutions, then the RTX 2060 is perfect for you.
The RTX 2060 is the least powerful variant of NVIDIA's RTX cards, but it's by no means a weak piece of kit. In fact, it's still a really solid card, and it will run Anthem on high settings at standard 1080p very smoothly. If you don't care about pushing resolutions like 1440p or higher, then this is the GPU for you.
Budget option AMD RX 580Perfect for a low budget
If you're stripped for money and don't mind turning some settings down to medium or low, then the AMD RX 580 is a great card for you. It's incredibly inexpensive, yet also fairly capable of making Anthem look good, albeit not great.
The AMD RX 580 is an inexpensive GPU that can make Anthem look pretty good as long as you fiddle with the settings for awhile. You'll have to lower the quality of things like lighting, shadows, and textures, but the beauty of Anthem's design is that even the lower-quality variants of those things look good.
Bottom lineIf you want a GPU that can do it all for Anthem, then the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 is right up your alley. It's a little pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for with this powerful GPU.
